Disk Image: Open the "OverSite" disk image that appears on your desktop and drag the OverSite application icon to the location of your choosing, such as the Macintosh HD/Applications folder.

OverSite v2.4.6, UNIX/Linux/other Java-enabled platforms:

TAR: Untar the following download via tar -xvf oversite.jar.tar. A JAR file, oversite.jar, will result. Ensure that you jave a Java Runtime (JRE) of version 1.4 or higher in your system path. Launch OverSite by double-clicking on the JAR file or by issuing java -jar oversite.jar.
